Bailey + Devon
This is when I fell in love with wedding planning ... when I was planning my own! From the beginning we knew we wanted an outdoor wedding with class and elegance. Where did that lead us? An amazing vineyard tucked away in the small town of Three Oaks, MI.
The venue set the scene for the details to follow. I began planning every detail with my mother-in-law creating our amazing bouquets and centerpieces. We choose black and white with a pop of green to pull out the colors of the vineyard. Keeping the color palate simple and using a classic damask pattern for the table runners allowed us to create a clean elegant feel.
When the vintage Rolls Royce drove me up to the ceremony and my dad took my hand as I stepped out of the car, I truly felt like a princess. Our circular setting arrangement added a unique ceremony element. Standing in the center of the circle with my husband to be and all of our closest family and friends surrounding us I could feel the overwhelming amount of love and excitement.
Lake Michigan weather gave us a "light" rain that added just enough drama. I think every bride and groom would prefer a clear day, but you can’t argue that there’s something magically swoonworthy about kissing under an umbrella, or dancing under a big white tent on a rainy wedding day.
From the diamond rings on the napkins to the coordinating cocktail drinks the day was everything I imagined - Timeless and elegant, and so very bridal!
Although, I did all the designing and planning, the best choice I made was hiring a day of wedding coordinator. She made sure everything was in place (the way I envisioned it!) and handled any issues that arose with the vendors and family. This allowed me to not worry about anything the day of the wedding, except walking down the aisle. I was able to be pampered with my bridal party without anyone asking me questions! Hands down the best decision I made!
