Custom Stationery Timeline

When couples start planning their wedding naturally they being with venue, photographer, and wedding planner (all very important!)! But once you start looking at the timeline below you will quickly realize that your calligrapher and stationery designer also need to be high on the list! It comes to a shock to most brides when they go to book a calligrapher who is already booked 5 months in advance! That is because custom invitations take much longer to complete compared to semi-custom invitations. Most calligraphers start booking, at least, 6 months out from the wedding date (if not sooner, for save the dates)!

Below is my basic timeline outlining when you should hire your stationer, design, print, assemble, and send out your invitations (one of my most frequently asked questions!)!

Depending on the materials we are using and design the invitation design period can take 1-2 months!

If you book with me, I will send you a much more detailed timeline outlining each step along the way to ensure a smooth process!

Day-of Stationery

Day-of stationery has a much faster turnaround time (usually a couple weeks). Which makes sense, since you need to wait until you receive all your RSVP’s. I typically start the design process for place cards, escort cards, and table numbers once we have sent out the invitations. That way, when you have your final guest list we already have our design set and ready to go! Any other day-of stationery not dependent on the RSVP’s will be started after the invitations are sent as well!
